The Maison Ditaba team has been travelling once again. We went to Belgium to meet Linda. Our job was to help her decorate her entrance and living room.

For the record, Linda is a young doctor. She bought a beautiful flat several months ago. But with her busy job, she never had the time to devote to decorating. So she called on Maison Ditaba to carry it out, much to our delight! Interior design for entrance hall and living room

In this article, you'll find out all about the creative process:

  • How Maison Ditaba worked with Linda before installing the decoration,

  • What Maison Ditaba suggested to Linda to help her visualise the final result,

  • How the installation went on site, in Linda's flat.

Getting ready for the big day of decorating

First of all, we had several meetings with Linda beforehand. The aim was to determine with her what type of decoration she might like. She didn't have a specific style in mind. She simply wanted to modernise her flat.

A challenge

Of course, it wouldn't be any fun without a challenge! So we had a challenge, because Linda wanted to keep her furniture, which is old - I (Marie-Laure) would even say rustic. So she already had some living room and dining room furniture, as well as some sofas.

A time for study and reflection

After the various interviews, we took some time to study and reflect. In particular, we looked at the various accessories that could be added to the existing furniture to modernise, brighten up and warm up the living room and hallway.

Mood board

In order to give Linda an idea of how we would decorate her home, we created a mood board. The idea was to get an idea of the different accessories and small furniture that Maison Ditaba was going to add to her living room and entrance hall. We had to work on the basis of photos and videos. We hadn't actually been to Linda's house at the start of the decorating project. But we were well prepared and everything went well!

Shopping list and in-store purchases

Linda had chosen the Olo formula, for end-to-end support. In addition to the mood board, Maison Ditaba created a shopping list, made in-store purchases and transported all the items to her home in Belgium.

A new layout

Once on site, the first thing we did was to rethink the layout of the living room. We played a little Tetris, to see what would be the most optimal layout. The aim was to conserve as much space as possible and make this living space more pleasant.

Decoration and odd jobs

Once we'd found the perfect layout, we got down to the small jobs (installing the glass cloth in the entrance hall, fitting rosettes to the light fittings in the living room and dining room, etc.) and putting the decoration in place. Maison Ditaba therefore completed the finishing touches on schedule.
